Death Cafe Monadnock

Death Cafes are agenda-free, group-led discussions (often with tea/coffee and cake!) that center on the topics of death and dying in an open, safe, and welcoming way. We will meet at the beautiful Riverstone Studio. I will bring a baked treat for us to share, feel free to bring a comforting beverage along for yourself. There will be plenty of cushions to sit on and a few folding chairs but if you have a particular chair you like to sit on please bring it. The event is free.

***In respect of all those who come to share in this space, the door will close by 11:10. If you can't make it on time, no worries...we will have more death cafes!***

If you have any questions please feel most welcome to email me at deathcafemonadnock@protonmail.com. Find out more info @ deathcafe.com.

Grief Circle

Change happens but we often don't give ourselves permission to experience the grief that accompanies change.

Grief Circles provide a space to be with our grief, together. In the tradition of Kay Pranis and Indigenous peacemaking circles, we will come together as a community to speak our grief into the circle and in speaking our grief, allow it to move so that it, too, can change. Transmuting our grief into action, even joy.

Circle Keeper: Gwir Huddleston Llewellyn
Time: 1 ½ hours
Each Circle will have a centering question. You are invited to speak to the centering question, or simply be a witness. Your presence is your participation.

The core values we bring to the circle are respect, humility, confidentiality, openness and presence.

The guidelines are simple: only one person speaks at a time; no one is compelled to speak; we honor the circle, that is, we pass to the next person in the circle; we respect the time.

Located in Dublin, NH at the Dub Hub.

Green Burial Presentation-- Nelson Library

Join presenters from THRESHOLD CARE at the Olivia Rodham Memorial Library in Nelson to discuss green burial. Historically all burials were "green”until about 75 years ago, so what changed?  You will learn about the qualifications that make a burial "green",  why the US buries 1,636,000 tons of concrete annually for burials, and why embalming is dangerous for humans and the planet.  Also, did you know that with advanced planning, it is legal to bury a loved one on your own property and that cremation is not necessarily more environmentally friendly?  Leave with knowledge and learn what you can do today, to support green burials right in your own community.
